Factory raises $200 million at a $5 billion valuation
Factory, which builds AI agents for enterprise developers, raised $200 million in a new round that valued it at $5 billion.
Factory’s new funding round more than tripled its valuation in a few months and intensified competition in the enterprise AI coding market.
The new round
Factory announced on September 15, 2026 that it had raised $200 million. According to Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, the round valued the company at $5 billion, compared with a previous valuation of less than $1.67 billion.
Investors named include Khosla Ventures, Blackstone, Sequoia Capital, Salesforce chief Marc Benioff and Altimeter founder Brad Gerstner.
What does Factory build?
The company’s Droids product consists of AI agents that help enterprise engineering teams write and test code and perform other software tasks. Factory positions it as a platform that is not tied to a single model provider.
AI-assisted programming has become one of the most actively used applications of generative AI. The new round gives Factory room to develop its product and expand its team, but the high valuation also sharply increases expectations for future growth.
