Axelera AI launches its Europa chip
European startup Axelera AI has introduced its Europa architecture, with integration into Dell and Supermicro systems.
Europa aims to bring enterprise and data-center AI inference to existing server infrastructure. Axelera says the product is shipping and that it has more than 600 customers.
What is new about Europa?
On September 15, 2026, Axelera AI officially launched Europa, its second-generation AI processor architecture. It targets inference workloads including agentic systems, vision-language models, generative AI and computer vision.
The product is offered as a chip, a half-height Axelera Edge 232p PCIe card and a full-size Axelera Server 250p card. Based on internal measurements, the company claims up to six times more tokens per watt than some GPU solutions; this is not an independent benchmark.
Partners and commercial scale
The Europa-based Edge 232p has been qualified in Dell XE5 and Supermicro 111AD systems. Axelera also says it is working with HPE, Lenovo, Advantech and other manufacturers.
According to Reuters, more than 600 customers use the company’s chips. Signed deals are worth tens of millions of dollars, and its sales pipeline exceeds $1.5 billion. This pipeline is a measure of potential sales, not guaranteed revenue.
