Euclyd raises more than €200 million for an AI chip
Dutch startup Euclyd closed a Series A round of more than €200 million to build an energy-efficient AI computing system.
Euclyd announced more than €200 million in Series A financing on September 15. The round will accelerate development of AI inference chips and server systems based on the company’s CRAFTWERK architecture.
The round and investors
Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries co-led the round. Samsung also participated as an investor. The US-dollar value changes with exchange rates; independent reports put it at about $231 million.
Euclyd plans to use the funding in two areas: on-premise AI inference hardware and rack systems for enterprises, and chip intellectual property that can be licensed to other manufacturers.
The product has not yet reached the market
The company aims to reduce the energy used to move data by tightly integrating processor and memory layers. Claims about technical efficiency currently come from the company and its investors.
CEO Bernardo Kastrup said commercial hardware is expected to reach customers in 2028. The round therefore supports bringing chips and systems still under development to market, rather than scaling an already widely available product.
